Question 1

How long does it take to launch?

Accepted Answer

That depends on how much has to be set up — mainly how many products need loading and whether you want pages designed beyond the standard set. A small shop is quick; a large catalogue takes longer. You get a timeline before you commit to anything.

Question 2

Can I use my own domain?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your shop can go live on a temporary address straight away, and your own domain is connected whenever you are ready — the temporary one then forwards to it. If you do not have a domain yet, we will help you get one.

Question 3

Can I change things myself, or do I have to come back to you?

Accepted Answer

You change them yourself. Products, prices, photos, the home page, your colours, your text, blog posts, pages — all of it is edited in the dashboard: type, upload, save. Come back to us when you want something built that is not there yet.

Question 4

Who owns the content and the data?

Accepted Answer

You do. Your products, orders and customers are your business's data. Backups are part of the service, you can take and download one yourself from the dashboard, and a full copy can be handed over on request.

Question 5

Does this work for a physical shop, not just online?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There is a till for the counter: scan a barcode, take cash or card, print a receipt, hold a bill while the next customer pays, close the drawer at the end of the day. It runs on the same products and the same stock as the website, so one sale is counted once. It can also be used on its own, with no website at all.

Question 6

Can my staff have their own logins?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add staff with roles, so the person handling orders can do that and nothing else, and you can allow or block individual actions on top. Deleted items sit in a recycle bin for 30 days, and staff who cannot delete can ask you to instead.

Question 7

How do I take payments?

Accepted Answer

Cash on delivery works from day one. Card payments run through Stripe on your own account, and bank transfer shows your account details at checkout and lets you mark the order paid when the money lands. The money goes to you directly.

Question 8

What if I need something the product does not do yet?

Accepted Answer

Ask. The platform is actively developed and features are added regularly. If what you need is bigger than that, we will tell you honestly what it would take and what it would cost.

Question 9

What happens to my shop's data if I stop paying?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is deleted. An unpaid account is chased first, and if it stays unpaid the shop can be taken off the air until it is settled — taken off the air, not wiped. You can take a full backup of your shop from your own dashboard at any time and download it as a file to keep, so you are never in a position where your catalogue and your orders are only in our hands.

Question 10

Can I bring the products I already have across?

Accepted Answer

Yes, from a spreadsheet. An export from Shopify or WooCommerce works as it comes — the importer knows their column names, folds the extra rows they write for each variant and each photo back into one product, and pulls the photos across. It shows you what it read before anything is saved, and hands back a file of any rows it could not use with the reason written on each one, so you fix those and re-upload only them. Your catalogue exports back out the same way. Sizes, colours and paid add-ons are set on the product itself rather than in the spreadsheet.

Question 11

Does it work on a phone?

Accepted Answer

The shop your customers see is built for a phone first — that is where most of them will be. The dashboard works on one too, so you can check orders and stock from your pocket, though adding products and designing pages is far more comfortable on a bigger screen. There is no app to download: it is a website, so it opens in whatever browser is already on the phone.

Question 12

Is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

No, and not by oversight — there is nothing to sign yourself up to. Your shop is built for your trade and handed over already set up, which is a piece of work rather than a switch we flip. What you get instead is a proper conversation first: what you sell, what it would take, what it would cost and how long it would be. Nothing is built until you have all four.

Question 13

What happens if my internet goes down?

Accepted Answer

Everything here is online, so while the connection is down neither the dashboard nor the counter till will work. The till reads prices and stock from the server on every single sale, and that is exactly what stops it and the website ever disagreeing about what is left on the shelf — but it does mean there is no offline mode. If your counter cannot afford to stop, a mobile connection as a backup is worth having.

Question 14

Can I run more than one branch?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each branch keeps its own stock and its own till, so a sale in one does not take stock off the other, and stock moves between branches without the total changing. One branch is nominated as the one that ships the website's orders. Shifts and cash counts are kept per branch as well, so two shops that both call their counter “Counter 1” never mix their figures up.

Question 15

What do I need at the counter?

Accepted Answer

A computer or a tablet with a browser and an internet connection. If you sell things with barcodes on them, a barcode scanner — it behaves like a keyboard as far as the till is concerned, so there is nothing to configure. A thermal receipt printer if you want receipts on a roll; the layout is made for 80mm, and printing goes through the browser, so any printer the computer already knows about will do. We do not sell the hardware: buy it locally and it stays yours.
